Onsite programs & services
All our programs are designed to educate, build confidence and leadership qualities in our local youth.
TRC ZONE: A recreational based drop-in centre for teens 13-18.
TAC: Teens responsible for the successful running of TRC Zone and volunteering in the community.
OASIS: Offers services for youth who are homeless, couch surfing or in need. Shower and laundry facilities are available as well as clothing, snacks & personal hygiene supplies. Staff meet with vulnerable youth and encourages them to access Case Managers.
TRC Case Management: This program, for youth ages 16-24, allows youth to work with Case Managers to develop life plans, overcome barriers, and eventually obtain sustained employment.
Sexual Health Centre located on site.
Mental Health & Addiction Counsellors on site once a week.
Art and Body: Art Madness provides instruction and application in a variety of different art forms. Body Blast provides opportunities to participate in a variety of physical activities including break-dancing, basketball, curling, yoga, martial arts and others.
Gurl Wurld: Provides girls 13-18 a safe and respectful environment to talk freely about things of interest to them.
Hangin with the Guys: Provides boys 13-18 years of age an opportunity to talk freely about things of interest.
Off site workshops/programs
Roses Rubbers and Rainbows
Explores dating relationships, healthy sexuality and understanding homosexuality. Broken up into three different groups this program is offered in school during class time.
Draw the Line
An interactive and assertiveness training program that is sure to hold youth’s interest.
Chill
An interactive program that helps youth think about the stressors in their life and gives them the tools, skills and information to help manage stress.
Got G.A.M.E.
A four-week program for boys and girls 12-19 offered during class time to help them manage stress, deal with peer pressure and turn negative energy into positive action.
Independence Day:
An independent living program for youth aged 16-20 that focuses on budgeting, apartment hunting, nutritional education, job skills, resume building, and other essential life skills.
Resiliency
This program helps young people learn to overcome life’s obstacles and challenges them to look at things differently.
“WORK” It Out!
This four-week program teaches youth how to find and keep a job. Each week includes a 90-minute group session to work on skills needed to advance job readiness and 60-minutes of one-on-one time with a case manager to work on personal issues or further skill development.
Youth Engagement Project
This program, in conjunction with Vibrant Communities, pairs youth with community partners to develop leadership skills and contribute to various neighbourhods.
